My son was looking forward to playing this game because he is a "Jaws" fan. However, upon getting the game, he discovered that this game, which requires three discs, was missing Disc 1! Therefore, installing and playing the game is impossible! The seller's listing for this game was incorrect!
They should have checked the game before selling it! My son begged for this game for ages! It certainly didn't let him down. He loves swimming around as a shark. It's a bit violent- ripping off swimmer's limbs- but the graphics aren't over the top. There are certainly far more violent games out there. Fun Game, but because it is older technology, it is fun but not as good as other more up to date games. One person found this helpful.
Jaws is screaming bloody good fun. I am very surprised that it doesn't have an M for Mature rating for the console although the PC box does. I think the RP rating is a very low rating. The game features bodily dismemberment quite literally as people are chewed up into bags of blood with their body parts floating about. They bawl gargling and try to swim to surface missing a leg. The fun you have with this game in the first few days makes it absolutely a must have.
How can anyone refuse to play as a great white monching up swimmers and divers? The shark movements are great because you can increase your shark attributes as the game progresses. You can stealth kill swimmers, jump up onto boats, catch people in mid air, drag them under water, torture them, play with them chomp them up into a bloody mess and then go on a free run and do it all again. The story is totally different from the movie but it does include themes very similar to all four films.
There are many levels which do require some brains to work out how to solve certain puzzles. In fact I was surprised by how much this game did have to offer considering that it look like a low-entry level console game. It is far from it! This is a fully charged arcade thrill kill with more gore than you would have anticipated. It has you laughing loud at the outrageous things you can do with the shark.
You have never played anything like this before, not will you again. And remember this should have been an M rating as the PC box states. The shark is literally tearing people up quite graphically. I remember buying this game back when it came out in Since then I have poured hundreds upon hundreds of hours into this game. In this game, you play as jaws throughout the entire game, wrecking havoc in the waters of Amity Island.
The game is starting to show its age a little, but it's still a tremendously fun game to play. The 'quest' or 'main story' is a little silly, but once you've finished it, you're free to do whatever you want.
You can even ignore it if you so choose, but certain parts of the map won't be available too you until you've progressed the main plot. There are many pros and cons to this game, but overall, there are far more pros.
Pros: Play as a great white shark, become the top predator of Amity island, great stress reliever, decent graphics, good animation of the shark, massive open world with several sub levels, okay voice acting, and many other things.
Cons: Main quest is a little Only a few animals pose as a threat to you. Jaws can become way too overpowered, very hard to control with a keyboard and mouse. Yse, I said it, all you hardcore PC gamers. Overall, this is a great game, but it is easy to get board of it after a while.
The shark isn't too hard to control if you go into the controls menu and adjust some settings. Some advanced moves are rather hard using a keyboard. Your shark can free roam through most levels causing mayhem and death everywhere. However,when you have giant ships shooting at you from everywhere, it becomes a bit tedious. There is enough variation to keep the game interesting for awhile. There are a few minor flaws but they are minor and do not detract much from game play.
